I also got the Doctor Who S4 boxset, along with The Writer’s Tale by Russell T Davies and The Torchwood Archives. And a shitload of wine, sherry and muscat from my boyfriend’s mum, which is just awesome.

All good, and happy holidays. My family has always celebrated Christmas out of laziness, none of us are really Christian. I pushed for opening presents at the Summer Solstice but was voted down.

Mine is similar, though rather than being merely nominal Christians we are atheists. Both of my parents rejected the strain of Christianity they each grew up with (Lutheranism and Methodism), and decided to raise us (myself, and two younger siblings) without religion. We celebrate Christmas and Easter purely for the sake of presents and candy.
Atheists don’t get holidays of our own, so I figure we are allowed to celebrate whichever we choose.
(Also, in my hometown in Iowa, we had a fun tradition of making baskets of popcorn and candy for the neighbors on May Day/Beltane and putting them on their doorsteps and running away before they answered the door. I loved that tradition almost as much as I loved trick-or-treating; free candy + an element of trickery = awesome)
My loot: some comics (two Buffy: Season 8 trade paperbacks and a Y: The Last Man), two books (Toni Morrison’s A Mercy and Margaret Atwood’s Surfacing), both “Hellboy” movies and a crap-ton of chocolate.
Vindication on the Rights of Women? Nice! I’ve been trying to work through all the feminist classics myself.
I got Mad Men on DVD and some Chucks, among other things.
The “Are You Being Served?” Christmas Special and some Pringles.

I don’t celebrate Christmas, although I will get myself DWS4 in the New Year for sure! Happy holidays.
