One of the annoying things about television is the attempt to provide iffy moral judgements. Presumably the viewer is supposed to think OMFG! Shades of Grey!
It is not a revolution in thinking to flirt with what makes us human (Battlestar Galatica, Sarah Connor Chronicles). Even when tough decisions have to be made the television show ultimately wraps it up with a pretty bow in forty minutes. Despite the mandatory angst and soul there still is the constant reinforcement of gender roles and beauty ideals.
(At least it is better than phallosophy in academia, where the effort required to translate our thoughts into “acceptable” speech is an energy drain all of its own.)
